Recently, I had the honor participating in a Daegan Smith training webinar where I was able to pick up a lot of valuable tips to grow your business online.

Who is Daegan Smith?

Daegan Smith is an internet marketer.  Daegan has generated as many as 2600 leads online in a single day without affiliate programs.  He daily generates hundreds to thousands of leads.  He has recruited over 3000 people to his MLM company.  And he has done this without calling a single lead.

Let’s start with Daegan’s story.  He started online about 5 years ago when he was 24.  Like most, he had a job.  Taking a shower one day, and realized he had been living the exact same routine for the past 6 months.  Peering into the future, Daegan saw the same thing indefinitely – working a job that wasn’t what he wanted to do with small pay raises for the rest of his life.  It freaked him out.  He knew he needed to do something different.

Daegan started watching infomercials on TV and decided to jump into real estate and purchased an apartment building.  At a real estate conference he heard about affiliate marketing on the net.

For the first year, he was throwing stuff against the wall to see what would stick.  He tried anything and everything to see what would make some money.  His belief went up as he earned some small commission checks.  But nothing major.

He finally found a mentor who told him the reason most people fail because they don’t focus.  At that point he had been introduced to network marketing.  He decided to learn how to be a network marketer and show people how to build a business.

Daegan realized that to grow your business, you need a LOT of leads.

He searched around internet to see what people were doing to be successful.  He modeled the successful marketers both online and offline.  He decided you need a few simple things.

1. A Lead Capture Page to find new leads
2. An Auto Responder to communicate and develop relationships with people
3. A Direct Response Sales Letter to create conversions

That is the easy, external stuff you need for your business.  But there are also some internal things you require:

You must have a clear, defined purpose for your business.  The biggest mistake people make is to not have a definite reason for their business.  You need to be clearly focused on what you are in the game to do.  Don’t throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks.

Having clarity on who you are and what you are doing will naturally attract the right people into your team.

The next factor is YOU!  You have to be yourself.  As yourself, you are good enough.  Have fun!  Trust in who you are and be passionate about your journey and people will naturally be attracted to you.

Daegan says you also have to love to learn.  Pay attention and learn from others who have the skills or experience you need.  Hire a coach or a mentor.  Be willing to pay the price to accomplish your goals.  Stay positive and keep moving along.  Action brings results.

Finally, you have to know no fear.  In other words, be willing to feel the fear, but take action and conquer it.  You will grow and become comfortable.

Daegan uses and recommends a Micro – Macro strategy.  He starts small and then grows it big.  Here is what he recommends:

• Start somewhere, anywhere – it doesn’t have to be perfect.
• Learn what you need to start from books or training but your real learning come from experience where you develop an intuitive feel for what works and what does not.
• Get proficient and start generating traffic
• Test different things (offers, fonts and colors) and track your results so you know what works.
• When you get it dialed in it is time to scale up.  Take yourself out of the loop by automating and go work on the next thing.

Finally, Daegen came back to focus.  Focus your efforts on getting leads, building relationships and getting profit today.  If you do this, there is no competition for your business.  It just doesn’t exist in the real world.  It only exists in your mind.
